Syros, Part 2: color

The color films from our Easter trip are finally back from the lab (took forever because of the two slide films at the end of the post, which were worth it). Here are the photos :)

– WARNING – LONG POST (10 rolls in total) –

Roll 1: Kodak Portra 400

(mostly from the ferry trip from Leros to Syros)

Roll 2: Kodak Portra 400

love the colors, the brightness and the output of the Voigtlander 50mm 1.2 in quite a dark setting:

but I also love the quirky bokeh of the ’70s Summicron:

Roll 3: Kodak Portra 400

Part of a new series, titled “Hellenicana,” which will mostly feature displaced Americana in Greece + Greek brands/store signs, mostly faded in time.

Eye of the tiger:

Roll 4: Kodak Pro 100

Leda’s Kodak moment:

Roll 5: Kodak Portra 160

the most perfect Portra blues:

Roll 6: Kodak Ektar 100

Roll 7: Kodak Ektar 100

Roll 8: Fuji Superia 400

Roll 9: Kodak Ektachrome 100

Roll 10: Kodak Ektachrome 100

I was very excited to shoot slide film again, and this last roll did not disappoint. It was shot in a span of two hours on a very bright sunny day in Syros:

This van stopped for a moment on the street right next to me. A perfect moment to have slide film loaded in the camera, to capture this light:

and I’ll leave you with this final shot of the roll, and its lovely light leak:

thanks for braving through to the end. Be back soon with more photos :)
